Jinwon Kim
University of California, Irvine
I am a PhD candidate in the School of Education at the University of California, Irvine. I am working with Di Xu in the Higher Education Research Analysis Lab (HERA Lab) and Renzhe Yu in the AEQUITAS Lab.
My research areas are learning analytics, educational data mining, and AI in Education. My research examines instructional design and student engagement in postsecondary education. Through data-driven approaches, I aim to improve instructional design and student engagement to promote equitable academic outcomes.
Prior to UCI, I received B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Korea University. Additionally, I have work experience as a data scientist, working on projects that aim to promote college students’ academic engagement and well-being through learning analytics and AI algorithms.
